If you weren't able to attend one the most talked about festivals of the year, Made In America which took place in Philly a couple of months ago. Check out the Made In American Documentary presented by Jay-z directed by Ron Howard. The footage clocks in at an hour-and-half while documenting everything from Hov's come-up to his Philly takeover with footage from rehearsals and live performances.
"Made in America is a bigger idea than just a concert," Jay Z explains best in the footage. "After these great tragedies, creativity is born, and I feel we are in that period right now, where people are pulling themselves up by the bootstrap and saying 'Okay, I'm going to go out and do this, and we're gonna do it our way."

Jay-Z continues to push boundaries in support of his newly released Magna Carta Holy Grail album. The rapper-mogul has descended upon New York City’s Pace Gallery on Wednesday afternoon for a six-hour performance of “Picasso Baby” off his new solo LP. Serving as a life art piece performance, the moment draws inspiration from artist Marina Abramovic’s 2010 MoMA exhibition Marina Abramović: The Artist Is Present. Footage captured from the event will be used for an official music video, presumably directed by Mark Romanek (“99 Problems”) who co-ordinated the event along with Salon 94. Wale, Marina Abramovic, Judd Apatow, Jerry Saltz, George Condo, and other well-known figures in the art world are all in attendance. Watch below!!

JT BACK!! Justin Timberlake hasn't put out any music since 2008 and last night he returned with the help of Jay-Z. "Suit & Tie," is a horn-tinged track, that sounds like it was produced by Timberland. The song starts off with a slow-drawl intro followed by a funky fast-paced beat that has Justin's falsetto on full display. In an open letter, JT revealed his new album, The 20/20 Experience, will arrive this year. In my opinion he sounds great, so I say welcome back JT!! Click the link and Listen to Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie" . Thoughts?

Word On The Street: Jay-Z Warns Chris Brown: “Don’t Hurt Rihanna Again”

    According to HB
Jay-Z has allegedly warned Chris Brown not to hurt Rihanna again or he will ruin his career. The couple who recently rekindled their romance are expected to go public next month and apparently Jay isn’t too happy about it.
Rihanna’s boss had a little sit down with Chris and told him that if he hurt Rihanna again, physically or emotionally, that his career would be over.
It's being reported that Jay invited (Chris Brown and Rihanna) as a couple to his concert in New York and backstage he called Chris to one side and told him if he hurts Rihanna, whether emotionally or physically, it’s over for him. He’ll ensure it will result in the end of his career.
Not sure if it's 100% true...but I do hope Jay put the fear in him to not lay hands on her again. I hope their reunion is for the best and not the worst. God bless them both.

Brooklyn Nets Cheerleaders Uniforms Unveiled: Inspired By “Street Fashion”

Forget colorful pompons and bright hair ribbons — black and “stretch leatherette” is the tough and sexy look for the Brooklynette dancers, who will perform during halftime at the Barclays Center to cheer on the Brooklyn Nets.
“The uniforms are feminine and strong,” said the costumes’ designer, David Dalrymple, who has worked with fashion icon Patricia Field for decades, collaborating on costumes for “Sex and the City” and “The Devil Wears Prada.”
Instead of hair scrunchies, the Brooklynettes have boots, studded fingerless gloves, zippers and latex.
“This isn’t palm trees and sunshine. It’s New York City, and it’s Brooklyn. It’s a different sensibility. We go hard,” the designer said.
Dalrymple, 45, had designed the red and blue costumes for the Nets dancers in New Jersey and was hired to give the outfits an edgy makeover to commemorate the team’s move to Brooklyn.
“They had an empty closet we had to fill,” he said.
The Brooklynettes collection consists of seven full costumes.
“They have a jumpsuit, a neoprene scuba blazer with sequin leggings, a little cropped warm-up jacket, and painted sequin leggings,” Dalrymple said.
The squad of 20 dancers will debut its wardrobe when the Nets preseason begins next month. The Nets regular-season opener, against the Knicks, is at the Barclays Center on Nov. 1.
“I do a lot of clothes for people in music,” said Dalrymple, who has designed costumes for Beyoncé and Mary J. Blige as well as the famous nude diamond-adorned body suit Britney Spears wore on stage at the MTV Music Awards in 2000.
“My look is very pop star, or for the person who feels like a pop star,” he said.
“For these costumes, we needed things that these women can dance and move in, but we wanted to bring in street elements. We needed to find that bridge of street fashion that can actually work on the court.”
Well alright!!! I'm not feeling these uniforms at all!! Good & Hood came to mind when I first saw the pictures. But hey it's a Brooklyn thing, it may take some getting use to!! Are You Feeling Them?
