[WE NEED ANSWERS!!] Is Exposing The “Nipple” A New Fashion Trend?!?

04/13/2012 The nipple baring beaut above is Melody Thornton of Pussy Cat Dolls at Elle's Women in Music bash yesterday. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that she stole the show!! Yes it's shocking but there is actually a larger issue I'm grappling with here. Is the nipple the new accessory for female celebs? I'm seeing more and more famous nips at random events and on the red carpet. You should know that I don't hold celebrities to the same "wardrobe standards" as you and I. They need to be louder, flashier and more "out there" but where do we draw the line? "Read more" for the full story. more

04/07/2012   Amber Rose was seen at Philadelphia International Airport yesterday to help celebrate the inaugural Virgin America flight from LA to Philly. The Philly native later turned up at the Virgin America launch party located at the Hotel Palomar. There were quite a few celebs on deck including DJ Jazzy Jeff (spinning), Terrence Howard, Zoë Kravitz and Nathan Morris (of Boyz II Men). Amber Rose decided to rock a "fun" look on the plane. The look consisted of Loca funky harem pants and "monkey sneakers", but went a different route for the actual party. Check out more pictures inside and share your thoughts on her fits. Did she WIN or FAIL? more

Women Are Complex Too: Solange Knowles Featured In Complex Magazine

I guess it’s safe to say that we are ADDICTED to Solange Knowles. From her boldness to her AMAZING style, the chick has it going on!! Solo recently sat down with COMPLEX Magazine for her “Women Are Complex Too” feature and opened up quite a bit. She spoke on her Love for Chrissy Lampkin from VH1’s Love and Hip-Hop, family, and how she likes "IT" in the boom boom room. We are eagerly awaiting her album but in the meantime we're soooo enjoying the fact that she is popping up all over the place. Check out a few excerpts below:
On whether she’d rather be submissive than dominant. Strong, independent women share this sentiment of wanting to be taken over sexually behind closed doors. It’s the natural balance for a woman like me.
I’d rather live in the U.S. than Europe. I talk sh-t about the American way, and how much more together Europe is as a society, but traveling as much as I have, there are lots of things I appreciate about home. I plan on living in Europe at some point, but for now I’m good in Brooklyn.
I’d rather be on the cast of Love & Hip-Hop than Project Runway. I’ve never seen Project Runway, but I’m a huge Chrissy [Love & Hip-Hop star Christine Lampkin] fan. I’d need to take boxing lessons from her first though, nahmean?

From Rihanna To Rachel Roy: LOVE For The Silk Pajama Trend Is HERE!

From Rihanna To Rachel Roy: LOVE For The Silk Pajama Trend Is HERE!

04/03/2012 How do you feel about jammies during the day? I consider myself pretty fashion forward but this was one trend that had to grow on me. Just so we are clear I'm talking silky, Clair Huxtable, a little too fly to sleep in jammies. Rihanna attended the ‘Battleship’ premiere at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Japan wearing the silk pajama-style look from Emilio Pucci‘s Fall 2012 collection and tan strappy sandals. I also remember seeing Rachel Roy rocking said pjs on the red carpet at some Hollywood movie premiere last year as well. Although there was an air of wrongness there was definitely something there I liked. Now as I see designers continue to incorporate "the pajama look" into their RTW and Resort lines I don't know why it took me so long to fall in love with this look. It's quintessential "comfortable chic". I'm absolutely a convert and I WILL be rocking PJs this spring! What are your thoughts on this look? ROCK or NOT? 04/03/2012 Many celebrities from Nicole Richie, Alicia Keys to Kim Kardsahian have been spotted wearing embellished headpieces. I even spotted a picture of Amber Rose who has a bald cut, take part in the trend. These headpieces give off a very boho glam feel. The statement piece can liven up any simple hairstyle i.e straight hair, loose curls and or even a pulled back bun, whatever your vice may be. In the photo above the beautiful A.Keys is wearing a lovely pendant headpiece by Chanel.Lacefront consumers please stay far way from this trend. And actually throw all of your lakefronts away ASAP!! It’s a WRAP for those. Head inside to see a few different styles that stars are rocking. more

The picture above is none other than our darling First Lady (with her little darlings trailing behind her) at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in LA this past Saturday. She was there to present Taylor Swift with the ‘Big Help’ award. I thought Mrs. Obama looked absolutely GORG! She was wearing a Wes Gordon Spring Metallic Houndstooth Mesh Embroidery Jacket with silver metallic jeans and simple black pumps. She looked liked the perfect mix of chic, classic and hip with a little #ImnottryingtoohardIjustgotitlikethis.. Head inside to see more pictures of our STUNNING First Lady. more

[HOT Trend Alert] The Chic Wedge Sneaker!!

04/02/2012 I'm not normally a sneaker girl. Outside of the Sauconys I bought to run in (well walk/run) I don't own any. I'm sure that it goes without saying that when Marc By Marc Jacobs and Isabel Marant showed sneakers in their spring 2012 collections I didn't initially pay very much attention. I now stand before you a changed woman (queue "Around the Way Girl" by LL)! The re-emergence of the wedge sneaker has (especially the high-top versions) is absolutely urban chic incarnate. THE SAGA CONTINUES: Gucci & Guess Land in Federal Court Over Knockoffs?

THE SAGA CONTINUES: Gucci & Guess Land in Federal Court Over Knockoffs?

03/30/2012 Gucci is finally having its day in court from what began initially as a lawsuit filed back in 2009. Gucci has accused Guess of product infringement on its trademarked designs. According to Gucci’s court filings this includes the green and red stripe design, the square G, the designer’s name in flowing script and a diamond pattern with repeating interlocking G’s. Guess' doesn't quite see it that way. They claim Gucci “sat on its rights” for seven years prior to suing. It's their belief that if they, Guess, were doing something wrong why did Gucci wait so long to file??? more

[Say What?!?] André Leon Talley Gets His Own Reality Show!

[Say What?!?] André Leon Talley Gets His Own Reality Show!

03/30/2012  |  No Comments

03/30/2012 I couldn't have been more excited after hearing that Bravo has intentions of airing the tentatively titled Fashion Stories of NYC — featuring Mr. André Leon Talley for its fall lineup! The former Vogue Editor-at-Large, who has coined such words as "Dreckitude" is back in the reality TV world (he recently departed from America's Next Top Model). His role is slated to be that of a mentor. According to Bravo TV:

"We follow four up-and-coming fashion design teams as they produce the defining collection of their careers, all under the watchful eye of fashion icon Andre Leon Talley. The mission to “create, show and sell” is clear for emerging designers striving to build a business in New York City, which remains the heart of the fashion industry."
The premise of the show seems simple enough and it really doesn't stray too far from the prime time fashion shows out now (A pinch of Project Runway, a dash of Fashion Star...). With ALT at the helm I'm excited and hopeful that this show will be another classic. Thoughts? Who'll be watching with me?
