Today Comedic Actor Charlie Murphy, also the older brother of Eddie Murphy, passed away at the age of 57.
It was reported by TMZ that Charlie died from leukemia Wednesday morning in a NYC hospital. His manager stated that he'd been going undergoing chemotherapy. His death shocked the family because they thought he was getting better.
Charlie famously co-starred on "Chappelle's Show" in some of Dave's most memorable skits ... including the nights Charlie partied with Rick James and Prince.
Charlie also co-wrote some of Eddie Murphy's movies, like "Norbit" and "Vampire in Brooklyn." He co-starred in "Are We There Yet?," "The Boondocks" and "Black Jesus." He recently toured with Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez and D.L. Hughley on "The Comedy Get Down."
Charlie's wife, Tisha Taylor Murphy, died in 2009 from cervical cancer. They had 2 children, and he had another from a previous relationship.
    May he Rest In Peace.

WorldStarHipHop was like the black YouTube in my eyes. Granted, most of the time it displayed ratchet behavior within the black community. However it also gave unsigned artists the opportunity to shine.
TMZ reports WorldStarHipHop founder Lee "Q" O'Denat has died:
We're told Q, the face and CEO of WorldStar, died in his sleep Monday night. Q founded the premiere hip-hop website in 2005 when he started posting mixtapes, which gradually progressed into a mash-up of hip-hop videos, fight clips and other outrageous camera footage. An autopsy is scheduled for later Tuesday ... although one source tells us Q died of a heart attack. He was 43. RIP

UPDATE: Damn. Rip Tommy. It has now been confirmed that Actor Thomas Mikal Ford has passed away at the age of 52.
If you watched the hilarious sitcom Martin in the late 90's you remember Tommy. Actor Thomas Mikal Ford played one of Martin's three best friends. He would often portray himself as a ladies' man and would flirt with Pam and other women on the show. His mysterious employment status was a running gag on the show and still is to this day.
Today it's being reported that Tommy is currently fighting for his life in Atlanta GA after suffering an Aneurysm. People on social media already killed the man off by posting RIP. I haven't read anything confirming his death so let's continue to pray for Tommy.

Another legend has passed away. Last month it was Prince, this month it's Muhammad Ali.
Muhammad Ali born, Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr., died on Friday June 3rd at a Phoenix hospital. He was hospitalized a few days ago due to respiratory complications. When I saw other media outlets report that he was on life support, I knew the end was near. He was 74.
A family spokesman told NBC News " After a 32-year battle with Parkinson's disease, Muhammad Ali has passed away at the age of 74. The three-time World Heavyweight Champion boxer died this evening,"- Bob Gunnell.
One of my favorite Ali quotes:
“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. The hands can't hit what the eyes can't see.”
Rip to The Greatest of All Time. Legends never die!

08/30/2012

Sad day in hiphop! Chris Lighty a pioneer in the game committed suicide early this AM. You never know what someone is going through. All I can do is send my prayers to anyone reading this that’s going through. I personally experienced a very difficult period in my life these past few years. But GOD has blessed me and made me realize the storm doesn’t last forever. Finally seeing my rainbow and I’m thankful.
According to Nydailynew
Hip-hop mogul Chris Lighty died Thursday morning after he shot himself after an argument with his estranged wife at his Bronx apartment, sources told the Daily News.
Lighty, 44 — a longtime manager of 50 Cent, Diddy, Ja Rule and Mariah Carey — stepped outside his South Riverdale apartment about 11:30 a.m., after a spat with his wife, Veronica, police sources said.
Suddenly, a gun shot was heard and Lighty was found lying faceup with a 9-mm. pistol next to his body, sources said
.
Law enforcement sources said Lighty — whose wife filed for divorce last year — may have been dealing with financial struggles, including owing about $5 million to the IRS.
Lighty, founder of Violator Management, merged with another talent company to form Primary Violator around the time of his divorce.
Musicians began Tweeting about Lighty soon after news of his death spread.
“R.I.P CHRIS LIGHTY THE MAN THAT SAVED MY LIFE!!!” Bronx rapper Fat Joe posted on Twitter. “I Would Be Nothing Without YOU!!! My Kids Appreciate YOU God Bless Chris Lighty.”
