The Ombre Hair Fever: An Oldie But Goodie!!

The ombre [Ohm-bre] hair trend is definitely not new. Just to recap ombre is just a fancy word for a hair coloring technique where the color is darker at the root and then fades into lighter and brighter highlights as you move down the shaft. The key to getting this trend right is making sure the deeper shade at the root is soft and gradually bleeds out. I remember seeing Aaliyah rocking this style years ago. In the last two decades I've seen countless singers, models, actresses and chicks famous for being famous dabble with ombre tresses. Take a look inside for more pics. more

I couldn't have been more excited after hearing that Bravo has intentions of airing the tentatively titled Fashion Stories of NYC — featuring Mr. André Leon Talley for its fall lineup! The former Vogue Editor-at-Large, who has coined such words as "Dreckitude" is back in the reality TV world (he recently departed from America's Next Top Model). His role is slated to be that of a mentor. According to Bravo TV:

"We follow four up-and-coming fashion design teams as they produce the defining collection of their careers, all under the watchful eye of fashion icon Andre Leon Talley. The mission to “create, show and sell” is clear for emerging designers striving to build a business in New York City, which remains the heart of the fashion industry."

The premise of the show seems simple enough and it really doesn't stray too far from the prime time fashion shows out now (A pinch of Project Runway, a dash of Fashion Star...). With ALT at the helm I'm excited and hopeful that this show will be another classic. Thoughts? Who'll be watching with me?

The razzi spotted bad gyal Rih Rih out in London looking like "I'm a bad bish!!!". The pop-star rocked a Maison Martin Margiela Flame Printed T-Shirt, cutoff shorts and her kick a$$ Christian Louboutin Sea.nn Girl Thigh High Boots!! Now if she aint a HOT girl then what do you call that? She then cleaned up nicely to do a photcall for the movie she'll be starring in Battleship.During press time Rihanna got a reporter together real quick after she asked her:
'You're so good at connecting with people that I think that we actually feel we know you. Things are clearly going brilliantly in your career. I just wondered if you are as happy in your private life, and will we see a certain Mr. Ashton Kutcher perhaps making a trip over here?'

Rihanna then responded: 'Wow, how disappointing was that question?'She then went on to add: 'I'm happy and I'm single, if that's what you're really asking.' All while putting a good island spell on that H-e for trying her like that!!

Vogue.It takes us inside her wardrobe, a room she cleverly converted into a closet. Even with fashion lust in my heart I enjoyed this video immensely. I'm not in love with all of Cassie's style choices but I absolutely love her sense of style. Clearly Vogue.It agrees, she is just one of the many fashionable New Yorkers (Although she is originally from Conneticut) they are interviewing for this segment. Lipps has promised to continue posting these segments on a monthly basis and I pinky promise to deliver any style worthy vids for all of my fellow fashion heads. The beautiful June Ambrose was on the Wendy William's show Monday promoting her show, Styled by June. In the pic above she is seen wearing a Vera Wang Printed Satin Dress, Hermes Birkin bag in Chocolate Brown and Giuseppe Zanotti High Platform Bow Sandal in Creta. June has been in the fashion biz for quite some time so the fact that the look above is effortless chic should be no surprise. The bright yellow on her dress goes so well with her complexion while the abstract print makes it interesting. Although Giuseppe says that her shoes are the color "Creta" they are clearly a brown girls version of nude. And yes June has the ultimate accessory, her assistant Eli Wasserman spotted on the top right of this pic undoubtedly carrying June's things. I am so ready for spring/summer!!! Are you?

Looking solely at that picture above of new mother Beyoncé no one could guess that she just had a baby just two short months ago. She attended Michelle Obama's fundraiser yesterday in Manhattan with her mother, Tina Knowles & mother-n-law, Gloria Carter. Bey was looking svelte and elegant wearing a Victoria Beckham dress, Lorraine Schwartz earrings, two beautiful Lanvin necklaces and a beautiful pair of Nicholas Kirkwoods. Of course Bey's beautifully toned post Blue Ivy body isn't going to do a thing to stop tongues from wagging about surrogates and such. Yes, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just a tad curious (gives side eye) but as a general rule I try to stay out of other women's wombs.
