MTV has confirmed that the 2013 Video Music Awards will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. While the host of the annual event has yet to be announced, this year’s show will take place on Aug. 25th. That's MAJOR!! What up BROOKLYN. Stay tuned for more details!!

The 2013 Billboard Music Awards are returning to Las Vegas on Sunday, May 19 and will honor the legendary artist Prince during a live ABC broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Prince will be honored with the Billboard Icon Award and is set to deliver what will likely be an unforgettable performance during the broadcast, produced by Don Mischer and sponsored by Chevrolet and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

The "Purple Rain" singer-songwriter-musician follows the 2012 Icon recipient, Stevie Wonder, who received a multi-tiered tribute led by Alicia Keys.

When I heard this story I started to laugh so hard, like dude what kind of weed are you smoking? I know when people smoke a lot they can start to "trip", ending up like smokie from Friday when he was acting like a chicken in deebo's chicken coup! Anywho, Snoop Dogg has decided to take on a different genre of music with his next album and will be going by the name Snoop Lion (what's my name fooool?). The album titled Reincarnated is set to drop later this year, but you can check out the first single "La La La" below. I swear this reminds me of the Cosby Show episode with Denise and her boyfriend singing "I SAID EHH MON" on the sofa..lmao!

Carey says she wrote TRIUMPHANT when she was going through a difficult time & it helped her get through it. Word on the street is that the track was written and produced by Carey, as well as Jermaine Dupri and Brian Michael Cox, who also worked on the singer's hits “Shake It Off” and “Don’t Forget About Us.”

Papa Knowles aka Matthew Knowles revealed that previously unreleased material from the group will appear on two compilation releases via his Music World Entertainment label partnership with Sony. (Does back-flip down the church aisle like momma payne). When asked about his upcoming label's plans Papa Knowles told The Huffington Post:

"We still have our joint venture with Sony, and in November, we're putting out two Destiny's Child catalog records with new material,".

Not only will there be new music released from the Cater 2 U ladies, a Destiny's Child reunion tour may even take place as well. Daddy says "It takes a year of planning to do these tours, but first it starts with the artist wanting to do it. And I think the ladies are still working happily in their solo careers," he explained, adding, "And I hope in the next five years that there is a reunion tour. I think it would be incredible."

D’Angelo Set to Perform at the BET Awards 2012

Yes you've read it correctly!! BET announced this morning that D’Angelo will hit the stage at the 11th annual award show next month. It will mark the R&B soul singer’s first televised performance in over 12 years. I pray he does well! This reminds of the movie Dream Girls, when Jimmy Early got on stage and made a complete fool of himself. Save the pelvic thrust for the bedroom D’Angelo and welcome back Mr.sexy!!

This year’s awards show will air on Sunday, July 1 live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. EST, hosted by Samuel L. Jackson. Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Usher, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and G.O.O.D. Music are all set to perform as well. Although we always talk about BET and their Ghetto antics, I am sure we will all be tuning in. LOL.

Meet The Yes Ma'ams a trio of fly females by the names of Privacy, Secret and Slander. I came across this group on twitter when a guy I follow requested to know who these hot girls were. Their look off bat get's a YES MA'AM from me; Fun, Flirty, Fly mixed with Sexiness = DOPETASTIC!!! As I researched more on the group I learned that they have been grinding since last year and released a Mixtape back in April of this year titled "Taste Test". After listening to the mixtape I’ve come to the conclusion that 1) they are totally inspired by vanity 6 and 2) Prince must be their grandfather because they have that lusty vocal thing going on heavy. I believe if they link up with the right writers i.e The Dream, Keri Hilson and or Ne-yo just to name a few, they really have a chance at taking the industry by storm. Nicki Minaj has released the official tracklist to her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. The highly anticipated album will be in a store near you on April 3rd with a standard edition of 17 tracks, and 3 bonus songs making up the deluxe edition. Since this is Roman RELOAED, Nicki Minaj has enlisted some major hitters from the hip-hop game to make this album BANG. The album features appearances from, Drake, Nas and Young Jeezy on “Champion,” while also trading bars with Cam’Ron and Rick Ross on the Hit-Boy-produced “I Am Your Leader.”
