The NBA 2K13 launch party took place last night in NYC. The star studded event was held at Jay-z’s 40/40 club, which makes perfect sense, being that Jay is the executive producer of the popular video game franchise. Celebs like Nas, Tyson Beckford, Talib Kweli, Bow Wow and more attended the event. The guest list also included NBA’s notable ballers, like Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Tyreke Evens, and the Brooklyn Nets’ Kris Humphries and Brooke Lopez. Rapper Meek Mill hit the stage and performed cuts off of his Dreamchasers mixtape series and MMG’S Self Made compilation album. Ladies please make note; NBA 2K13 arrives in stores Oct 2nd!! Let the men enjoy their game!!-Go paint your nails or something..lol

Chicago Bull's Derrick Rose Uneasy With Fame

Chicago Bull’s Derrick Rose Uneasy With Fame “This life doesn’t fit my personality.”

04/17/2012  |  No Comments

04/17/2012 FAME.... it ain't for EVERYBODY, Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose set down with GQ Magazine and spoke about the celebrity status that goes along with being the biggest star in his hometown and how it makes him uncomfortable and doesn't fit his personality.

"Sometimes it's too much," Rose told GQ Magazine in a story posted on its website Tuesday.
"Chicago isn't used to stardom. Back when Michael [Jordan] was here, everyone was used to actors and singers and people being at the games. But there's been a drought since then, and even celebrities, they'll stop here to film a movie and then pop right back out. They don't know how to act toward celebrity. So I always have someone with me. I can have a hat on, glasses on, whatever. People still notice me. If I go outside without a hat on, I feel like I'm naked."
Rose, who won two state titles at Simeon Career Academy in Chicago, played one season at Memphis before his hometown Bulls made him the No. 1 pick in the 2008 NBA draft. The quiet and reserved point guard experienced immediate success, winning Rookie of the Year and leading the Bulls to the playoffs. His profile -- locally and nationally -- has risen each year since with three NBA All-Star Game appearances, an impressive performance with Team USA in 2010, a 14-year endorsement deal with adidas worth a reported $250 million and an NBA MVP award last season at 22, making him the youngest recipient of the award in history.
Rose told GQ that the more success he has on the court, the tougher it gets for him to deal with his fame. Now that's deep. I hope he remains mentally healthy; because fame is like a drug and we all know how things can go left quick! Click HERE to read the full story.

Adidas Preparing To Offer Derrick Rose A $250 Million “Lifetime” Sneaker Contract

Adidas Preparing To Offer Derrick Rose A $250 Million “Lifetime” Sneaker Contract

01/02/2012  |  No Comments

01/02/2012 Derrick Rose is somewhere feeling GREAT!!! Earlier last month, Rose and the Chicago Bulls announced that he was signing a five-year, $95 million contract extension. Then ESPN’s Marc Stein recently reported that Adidas may be positioning themselves to offer Rose a “lifetime” sneaker contract. The proposed contract? Somewhere in the neighborhood of ten years for $250 million. Rose has already surpassed LeBron James sales in China, which is a huge market that’s been relatively untapped by the NBA thus far. If the deal officially goes through, Derrick Rose will be collecting a paycheck every year simply for helping to endorse his own signature Adidas sneaker, plus other Adidas gear and products. Now that's major!!! I woonder if kids will ever stand on line, rob and kill for his sneaker? I mean he is a BULL. We shall see. more
