Venus Williams Pulls Out of U.S. Open Due To Autoimmune Disease

09/01/2011 • Due to an autoimmune illness, Tennis star Venus Williams has been forced to pull out of the US Open. The seven-time major champion said in a statement that she was recently diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome, "an ongoing medical condition that affects my energy level and causes fatigue and joint pain."
