Young Fabulous & Focused: Founders of Ladies Who Brunch ATL Discuss Empowerment Movement + More

December 18, 2015 |  by  |  EVENTS, POWERGIRLS  |  Share

Recently I was able to interview the Founders of Ladies Who Brunch ATL. LWBATL is a global women empowerment movement created by Bianca Rush and Dayira “Dayybella” Jones. The two have come together to help current and aspiring entrepreneurial women connect, gather and share knowledge over a brunch in a Metropolitan city. Check out the interview inside.

Candi: First I would like to say congrats on the success of Ladies Who Brunch ATL this far. I’m familiar with the both of you via Instagram. Day I’ve actually featured you on my IG for a fashion look and Bianca I’ve lusted over your Sassy Mitchell over the years like wait until I get my coins together I’m going to purchase some hair.

LWBATL: * Laughter *

Candi:So now you two have teamed up to empower women and motivate aspiring business women . What made you girls go with the brunch theme for your empowerment movement?

Bianca: We thought about what women like. So we enjoy food we like to dress up and be social. So that’s where the Brunch aspect came. And I know personally my friends and I always look forward to brunch on the weekend. So the concept for Ladies Who Brunch ATL was for us to create an avenue where women could connect with each other and formulate relationship that we see men doing all the times. Whether it’s my fraternity brothers, cousins, my father and neighbors ! It’s  Always men helping men which is a great thing.  But we both feel women can do the same thing . We Noticed not many of us have that in our network. We have similar interest but we haven’t teamed up to help each other. So that’s why Dayy & I put our brains together to show that women can work together and be successful to create that avenue we both have been looking for so long.

Candi: In the past I’ve seen Karen Civil and Fashion Stylist Olori Swank be apart of your events. How do you ladies go about selecting your panelists for events?

DayyBella:We create a list of women we look up to personally and people who look  up to them that’s  successful in their career. We try to get different women in different industries so it isn’t about one topic. So the event is diverse & we can attract more women in different industries.

Candi : Dayy your 21 and Bianca your 28. What are the advantages of the age difference when discussing business ideas or brainstorming for your next events.

Biance: We both have similar taste. I definitely wouldn’t say Day’s age defines her mentality even though she’s 21( day turns 22 on Dec 21st) it doesn’t mean she functions at a typical 21 year old type level. She’s very much about her business , very structured has a direction on where she wants to go. Working with her and I would say her working with me we don’t see age we just see a vision. That’s what helps us. She’s very creative I’m very strategic, we put that together and  that’s how we have our plan. Age has no difference in regards to us we are just able to work it out because we both know where we want to go with this!

She’s very creative, I’m very strategic we put that together, and that’s how we have our plan.-Bianca

Candi: Thats dope. Because  you all aren’t  focusing on age. You both are driven by the goal.

Candi:Speaking of age. Which age group attends your brunch events?

Bianca: Most of the millennial women. So we’ve had some girls that are fresh out of high school and we’ve had women up to the age of 50. But the audience that comes to our event they’re around the ages of 20-35 ( target market) but it’s for all women regardless.

Candi: What does the term Girl Power mean to you?
>

Dayybella: Girl Power means to me everything. Having support from each other. I feel like with us sticking together we can make a lot of things happen verses us being against one another and being hateful towards each other. Girl Power is everything. Especially in this day and age For us to come together to empower one another and help one another is a good thing it’s a great thing.

For us to come together to empower one another and help one another is a good thing it’s a great thing. – Dayybella

Bianca: I agree.

Candi: Ladies of Business Conference is taking place Feb 5-7: what can someone that’s never been to one of your brunches expect?

Bianca:You can expect to be motivated and you can expect to come out with a new friend! There’s Women coming from all over to the conference that are like minded individuals we just want grow in 2016. We either want to start our own business or develop our business further or even just gain friends that think like us. Motivated, empowering, thinking we can be great type of women because we can be. They’re going leave feeling ready to get started. Ready for Monday to hit or the work day come back around or the holiday season to end just so they can get started so that’s what I feel women can expect.

Candi: Where do you girls see the Ladies Who Brunch brand in the next 2 years?

Dayybella: Well, definitely we want to be worldwide and international. That’s one of our big goals but we are trying to strategize to see how we can get there at this point. So that’s where we are now.

Candi:So it’s safe to say you want to expand?

Dayybella: Yes Expand.

Candi: I got you girl I’m following you girl!
Dayybella:* Laughter*

Candi: Ladies I know you both are busy women. So lastly I just want to ask what tip or piece of advice  would you like to share with  aspiring female entrepreneurs.

Bianca: Stay motivated &  continue to go. Understand that Failures may happen but that doesn’t define the end result of your goal. Because I went through my own personal/professional failures,  I was still able to pursue forward and it ended up turing out ok and being successful in the end. So definitely don’t give up.>

Dayybella:I agree with her really. Just don’t give up and always stay true to yourself because at the end of the day that’s who you do it for.

Candi: Ok those are nice jewels to tease the aspiring female entrepreneurs with so they better make it that conference right?

Dayybella: For Sure because they will miss out! *laughter*

Candi: Ok ladies thank you for speaking with me today. I wish you both much success and keep me posted on future events.

LWBATL: Thank you.

Please ladies do NOT head to your local braider requesting this style. Being that 1) its a wig and 2) we don't want to see you in a local Walmart, dragging these inches almost tripping while trying to strut....GIRL!! Anyway! “MotorSport” is the lead single off Migos’ upcoming album Culture II, due in January. Check the video out below.
