Soulja Boy was slapped with two felony gun charges in Los Angeles Monday after cops found an illegal assault rifle and a stolen handgun inside his Studio City house during a probation raid, prosecutors said.
He’s facing more than four years in state prison if convicted as charged.
The rapper was charged with unlawful possession of a Mini Draco AR-IS assault weapon and possession of a Glock 21 handgun in violation of probation.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney also charged him with a misdemeanor count of receiving a stolen Glock 21.
The .45 caliber handgun had been reported stolen from a Huntington Beach police vehicle, prosecutors said.
The 26-year-old singer, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Monday and is due back in court Feb. 28.
He was arrested at his house Dec. 15 when cops found the firearms during the surprise search triggered by something threatening he posted online, a police source previously told the Daily News.
Soulja Boy’s landlord says he owes thousands in rent
Nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award for his hit song “Crank That,” the rapper was not allowed to possess guns due to his 2014 conviction for carrying a loaded revolver in a car.
When keeping it “Hood” goes wrong. Maybe if he get’s jail time he will then humble himself.
