R&B singer Rihanna will enter the world of acting by starring in the upcoming action film ‘Battleship’. The movie is about a fleet of ships that have to battle it out with a group of other hostile ships. It is based on a popular Hasbro board game, but wait, don’t make haste statements, rumors has it that “Battleship” will provide us with more of a back-story and action than the game.
The 23-year-old Riri who is determined to make it as an actress, plays Raikes, an FBI espionage agent assigned to help the navy in their mission to stop aliens attacking Earth. Along Rihanna, “Battleship” also features Brooklyn Decker, Liam Neeson, and Taylor Kitsch. Peter Berg directed the movie set for 2012 release.
I am not sure how well a movie based on a game will be, but it will be definitely interesting to see how well it does or does not do.
Check out the current trailer below – keep your eyes open at 1.45 to see Rihanna gawping at a pretty intense looking submarine-demon or whatever it is. Look very closely cause Rihanna doesn’t like Rihanna and she is in the trailer only for half a second.
