Women Are Complex Too: Solange Knowles Featured In Complex Magazine

    I guess it’s safe to say that we are ADDICTED to Solange Knowles. From her boldness to her AMAZING style, the chick has it going on!! Solo recently sat down with COMPLEX Magazine for her “Women Are Complex Too” feature and opened up quite a bit. She spoke on her Love for Chrissy Lampkin from VH1’s Love and Hip-Hop, family, and how she likes "IT" in the boom boom room. We are eagerly awaiting her album but in the meantime we're soooo enjoying the fact that she is popping up all over the place. Check out a few excerpts below:
    On whether she’d rather be submissive than dominant. Strong, independent women share this sentiment of wanting to be taken over sexually behind closed doors. It’s the natural balance for a woman like me.
    I’d rather live in the U.S. than Europe. I talk sh-t about the American way, and how much more together Europe is as a society, but traveling as much as I have, there are lots of things I appreciate about home. I plan on living in Europe at some point, but for now I’m good in Brooklyn.
    I’d rather be on the cast of Love & Hip-Hop than Project Runway. I’ve never seen Project Runway, but I’m a huge Chrissy [Love & Hip-Hop star Christine Lampkin] fan. I’d need to take boxing lessons from her first though, nahmean?

Marc Jacobs Planning To Launch Make-Up Line!

April 3, 2012 |  by  |  Beauty  |  No Comments  |  Share

    According to WWD Marc Jacobs has a new beauty project coming soon: color cosmetics. Jacobs, will team up with Sephora to do the line, noted that, while it’s in its early days, he’s pleased to delve into the makeup world. He states;
    “Anything to me that is part of the joy, the ritual, of getting dressed — things that women enjoy like bags, shoes, fragrance, clothes, makeup — that’s what fashion’s about for me,”
    Jacobs had his first meeting for the color line last week and had this to say about the line “I see makeup, fragrance — everything, really — as an opportunity. The idea of choosing a color for your lip, or an eyeliner — it’s just such a delight. The ritual of waking up and making those choices is something people really enjoy. We currently are working on defining what Marc Jacobs cosmetics will be, what they’ll say, what makes them distinctive. I think that will take some time, but the first meeting was good.” A target launch date has not yet been identified, Jacobs added.
    He designs HAWT clothing, provides us with FABULOUS fragrances, but will he be able to impress us with his Makeup line? All my make-up lovers, are you planning to checking his line out?

From Rihanna To Rachel Roy: LOVE For The Silk Pajama Trend Is HERE!

April 3, 2012 |  by  |  Fashion, Fashion Trends, LOVE IT!!!, Trend FIX  |  1 Comment  |  Share

How do you feel about jammies during the day? I consider myself pretty fashion forward but this was one trend that had to grow on me. Just so we are clear I'm talking silky, Clair Huxtable, a little too fly to sleep in jammies. Rihanna attended the ‘Battleship’ premiere at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Japan wearing the silk pajama-style look from Emilio Pucci‘s Fall 2012 collection and tan strappy sandals. I also remember seeing Rachel Roy rocking said pjs on the red carpet at some Hollywood movie premiere last year as well. Although there was an air of wrongness there was definitely something there I liked. Now as I see designers continue to incorporate "the pajama look" into their RTW and Resort lines I don't know why it took me so long to fall in love with this look. It's quintessential "comfortable chic". I'm absolutely a convert and I WILL be rocking PJs this spring! What are your thoughts on this look? ROCK or NOT? Head inside for this season's hottest pajama inspired looks.

Will YOU Be Rockin’ The Headpiece Trend This Summer?!?

Many celebrities from Nicole Richie, Alicia Keys to Kim Kardsahian have been spotted wearing embellished headpieces. I even spotted a picture of Amber Rose who has a bald cut, take part in the trend. These headpieces give off a very boho glam feel. The statement piece can liven up any simple hairstyle i.e straight hair, loose curls and or even a pulled back bun, whatever your vice may be. In the photo above the beautiful A.Keys is wearing a lovely pendant headpiece by Chanel.Lacefront consumers please stay far way from this trend. And actually throw all of your lakefronts away ASAP!! It’s a WRAP for those. Head inside to see a few different styles that stars are rocking.
