In fashion there had been rules you just wouldn’t dare break until NOW!!! In 2015 and beyond we are being unapologetic when it comes to our style! Don’t follow the rules make them!
Harper’s Bazaar came up with a list of Fashion Myths that no longer apply to today’s fashion world. I picked out a few myths I agree with below! You may be ahead of the game and already breakin’ them.
Myth #1 : No White After Labor Day
Your white jeans that you got this summer and they fit you AMAZING, can still be worn during the fall/winter season.
Myth #2: No Mixing Prints
From stripes to plaids mixing prints is totally acceptable! However there is a fine line when mixing prints. I’ve seen some stylish chicks pull it off and some chicks that look like complete fools. So just because it’s IN please proceed with caution. Good luck!
Myth #3 Sequins & Metallics For Night Time Only
I love all things sparkly and shiny so I’ve already broken this “rule”. Just keep in mind for some pieces I.e Sequin skirts should be saved for a night on the town. Anything else from purses, tops and or hair accessories bring on the shine!
Myth #4 No Socks or Stockings With Open -Toe Shoes
I’m here for the sophisticated school girl look! However I prefer a printed or ruffle rock for my heels or open-toes. When it comes to stockings I love seeing bold colors paired with sandals or open-toe shoes!
Myth #5 Don’t Rock Navy & Black Together
Tired of wearing black from head toe ( said no one EVER) but if you want to give your blacks a rest mixing black and navy is the way to go! In the past you wouldn’t dare pair the two colors being that it’s hard to tell them apart at times. But in fashion you’ll have to master the art of doing so to achieve your look.
Myth #6 Matching Your Bag & Shoes
You remember that clutch you saw at Zara and wanted to find shoes to match? No need! You like the bag? Wear it whenever. A playful mix of accessories always elevates your look.
